How WordPress Websites Make You More Money
I have had the privilege of working with some really wonderful clients to help them market their businesses online. The truth is, the only reason I expanded my copywriting services to include customized WordPress websites is because I cared enough to make sure that the quality website copy that I write has a professional-looking framework to draw people in so they would stick around to read the words that I wrote for my clients. That might sound a little vain, but when you work with me, you’ll understand that I care a great deal about delivering quality work. I think my clients should have the best, so I work really hard to deliver.
When it comes to having a professional website, your website visitors (i.e. potential clients) care about impressions. It only takes two-tenths (2/10) of a second for people to form an impression of your website. Want proof? Read the Eye Tracking Study conducted by Missouri University of Science and Technology. Through the study, they found that it only takes a split second for people to form an opinion about whether they will do business with you based on how well your website looks. Ouch!
Whether we like it to or not, image and outward appearances do matter. But don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about your personal appearance (although that is important, too), I’m talking about the impression that your business makes, especially online, when there are far too many distractions and quite frankly better looking websites to click on. Do you know that 85% of people will look you up online before they decide to do business with you?
It’s true. Your potential customers are checking you out. So, what do people think when they see your website, the virtual representation of your business? What are they finding? Do they find that you have an outdated web presence? Do all of your buttons work? Do you have missing content? All of these things matter to a prospective client, who will easily turn to Google or Bing to find an alternative if they are not absolutely impressed with your online presence.
So what’s so special about WordPress? In addition to the simplicity of use – which makes it easy for you to maintain – WordPress is search engine friendly, can be customized to your unique business and is built with “clean” coding based on the latest Web standards. All the things you need to make the perfect impression online so you can attract better clients. Of course WordPress is not the only Content Management System out there. There are also Joomla, Drupal, and several others. But, whatever you choose to work with, try to stay away from the cookie cutter templates you see offered by most hosting providers since those templates are not meant for premium customization for a professional business like yours.
You see, the reason I use WordPress is the same reason I write content: To help your business attract and engage quality customers online. It’s not just a nice tag line, it really is THE aim of what I do. And what better way to attract your online customers than with a beautifully designed website that contains just the right words written to get your business found online and convert potential customers into a paying customers?
Do you use WordPress for your business website? Why or why not?
